Tyres are easy to overlook but they are one of the most vital components of a car and it's important to check them regularly. Old or damaged tyres present a serious threat to your driving safety. Correct tyre setup is essential for the handling of your vehicle, fuel economy and the overall lifespan of your car. If you notice your tread is wearing unevenly this could be as simple as an under or over-inflated tyre or a sign of misaligned or worn suspension components.
It's a legal requirement to have a tread depth of 1.6mm in a continuous band around three-quarters of each tyre, and if there are any exposed cords you are liable to a fixed penalty notice with a fine and 3 points per illegal tyre. If you are at all unsure of the condition of your tyres, please don't hesitate to stop by and one of our technicians will be happy to inspect your vehicle and give you no-strings-attached free advice.
New Tyres
If you do need new tyres, we can source a large range of tyres same day. These range from leading brands, such as Goodyear, Dunlop, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Continental and Michelin down to more budget-friendly names like Hankook. If you have a specific set of tyres in mind, let us know and we'll do our best to source them for you.
Puncture Repairs
If your tyre has only suffered a puncture then you may be lucky and not need to replace it entirely depending on where the object has penetrated. We will never upsell you tyres if it's not necessary! Unless our technicians have other concerns like bulges or perishing we will always endeavour to find and repair a puncture before recommending a new tyre.
Wheel Balancing
When you fit a new tyre to a wheel it is important to balance it to ensure your vehicle handling isn't affected. We balance every tyre we fit inclusive of the price to give you peace of mind that you'll get the most life out of your tyres.
